May Recap
As the month of May draws to a close I wanted to share a bit about what I’ve been focused on these past few weeks. This post includes where I’ve been reading in the Bible, exciting things that happened, what books I’m reading, and more :)
Bible Study
I have been reading through the book of 1 Peter lately. If I had to pick one verse to summarize the theme of this book it would have to be 1 Peter 4:19 which says, “Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.” I really love the idea of entrusting our souls to the Lord. It’s so easy to become focused on the temporal things, and to worry about small issues when ultimately we can cast our cares on the Lord and be content and at peace, fully trusting in Him. I have also been enjoying reading a Psalm each night before I go to bed as it gives good closure to my day and helps me to refocus on the Lord before falling asleep.

A Few Little Highlights
I enjoyed my first official campfire of summer over memorial day weekend. I got to enjoy a movie night with my sister and brother-in-law. My best friend got home from a trip. I ate lots of sweet potatoes with cottage cheese, as well as watermelon and caesar salad. I competed in nine different events at five track meets this month. I enjoyed turkey hunting with my best friend and raccoon hunting off of my front porch. I got to spend time with my extended family who visited for memorial day weekend. I got to work for some friends who are building their house. I adore playing with the children at my church and getting to know my church family better. I have been able to spend hours training with my track team. I have loved spending time playing piano and guitar. I got to spend lots of quiet time with the Lord, reading and studying my Bible, praying, and going on prayer walks.
This month was very busy but wonderful :) It seemed like this month flew by but in review I can appreciate how many wonderful things happened. It is very easy for me to get busy and forget to thank and praise the Lord for the seemingly “ordinary” blessings that He gives each and every day. Praise the Lord for breath in our lungs, clean water to drink, an abundance of food, and homes to shelter in. Praise Him for family to grow with, friends to laugh with, and the countless other things that He blesses us with that we take for granted daily.
As we head into the month of June don’t forget to praise the Lord for the little things!
Even if it's something as small as sweet potatoes with cottage cheese :)
